In answer to those who prefer teaser RSS feeds to full text

A few people have found the image ads in the InfoWorld RSS feeds to be overbearing, including Tim Bray and Dave Winer.  While the advertisers will be pleased to hear this, it's not in our interest to lose loyal readers.  So, we've re-opened the teaser version of the InfoWorld RSS feeds for those who prefer the shorter format.

To those of you who were disappointed by the move to full-text, I hope we can win back your confidence.  And thank you for telling us what you wanted rather than unsubscribing in silence.

To those of you who are curious about the performance of the full-text feeds, we've seen subscriptions and click traffic both continue to climb.  Unfortunately, I can't divulge the performance figures for the ad units, but we're very pleased with the results so far.  The only thing I recommend for those who plan to do the same is to find a way to include some level of branding in each entry.  I'm thinking a small text link in parens at the beginning of the first paragraph.  But there might be other solutions out there yet.
